#26. ATTENTION SPAN...GONE
Focus is a conundrum for endurance athletes. We have all the tools, metrics, data and gear to be wildly successful but we often lack focus. It's the conversation I have with so many athletes and high functioning individuals these days, myself included. Which is why when Jacki Carrposted this blog and left Instagram, I was intrigued to read and share with you.
Life Coach Jacki Carr started her career at Lululemon before launching a very successful career as a Life Coach and then went on to become a Wife, Mother and Community Builder. Her newsletters, blogs, social media presence, courses and Goal Hikes have been inspiring for thousands of people seeking an understanding of themselves and how purpose, connection and vision can have profound influences on our trajectory. Jacki has been authentic in her messaging, vulnerable about her own struggles in business, family and relationships. Her openness and honesty has been a courageous act and is well portrayed through her brand.
With Jacki's commitment to building her network, her social media presence has been a force and highly curated for many years. Last week, Jacki left Instagram and wrote this catchy blog on Substack aptly named: 33 Reasons Why I Left Instagram.
Have a read and let me know which reason speaks to you. #26 struck me. It relates directly to my last newsletter related to Focus and attention for endurance athletes. It also weaves well into what Cal Newport's Deep Work and James Clears Atomic Habits are hoping to teach us about the mind and its powerful abilities to help or hinder. No matter your world, a focused and quiet mind is both a gift and train-able.
