Strength training a tricky discipline of endurance sports to prescribe. Strength work takes time and the prescription must fit the needs of the athlete along with seasonal planning and any physical limitations. Without a doubt, strength work is absolutely vital for success in the endurance arena for not only performance gains but also for a long life of wellness, hormonal balance and postural integrity.
All Brite Coaching athletes are prescribed a specific strength protocol based on their unique needs and tailored to their goals, weaknesses and health. Strength targets sport specific movements and the muscles needed to maximize endurance performance, while also building critical tissue resilience, mobility, stability, and coordination. A little goes a long way if consistent and discipline to make time for strength work.
Most of our athletes are directed to work with Strength & Conditioning Coach & Olympian Gina Grain (Train With Grain) for both an assessment of strength, power and force. Once assessed, we prescribed a specific strength and mobility routine for the athlete that is both re-assessed and monitored over their season.
TWG also offers live zoom sessions on tuesday mornings and sport specific strength programs.
